England team to face France CONFIRMED as Southgate sticks with same daring XI for World Cup quarter-final

ENGLAND remain unchanged for their World Cup quarter-final against reigning champions France.

Gareth Southgate has kept Bukayo Saka – his joint tournament top scorer – alongside Phil Foden on the flanks.

How England line up against France

They are either side of skipper Harry Kane, who got off the mark in England’s 3-0 last 16 win against Senegal.

But it means Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford, level with Saka on three goals, remains on the bench.

Jordan Henderson, who opened the scoring against Senegal, keeps his place in midfield alongside Jude Bellingham and Declan Rice.

Southgate, sticking with a back four, names Harry Maguire and John Stones as the centre-back pair with Jordan Pickford in goal.

Luke Shaw operates at left-back with Kyle Walker on the right, where all eyes will be on his duel with French superstar Kylian Mbappe.

Walker came out firing before the crunch clash in Qatar, which hosts his duel with one of the world’s most in-form players.

He said: “This game is not England v Mbappe. The game is England v France.

“If we lose we go home. He’s not going to stand in my way of hopefully winning a World Cup for my country.

“Do I understand the focus on Mbappe? Of course I do. I understand what I need to do and that’s obviously to stop him.

“It’s probably easier said than done but I don’t underestimate myself.

“I’ve played him before and I’ve come up against great players with England, Man City and other clubs.

“I have to give him the respect he deserves but not too much because he’s playing England and we can also cause them problems.”;
