EPL: Bent tells Arsenal’s new sporting director players to sell, keep at Emirates

Published on April 01, 2025 at 11:33 AM

Former Tottenham Hotspur striker Darren Bent has urged Arsenal's new sporting director Andrea Berta to sell Gabriel Jesus and keep Kai Havertz at the club.

Recall that Arsenal recently announced Berta as the club's sporting director.

However, Bent believes Berta needs to sell Jesus and sign another top attacker for the Gunners in the summer transfer window.

“Gabriel Jesus. He's got to go. Havertz stays,” Bent said (via TBR Football).

“I think he will be the first to go, Gabriel Jesus.”

“Keep Trossard off the bench, but not as a starter; he plays too many minutes. You've got Trossard and Martinelli on the left.”

“Centre-forward [position], Gabriel Jesus can go. On the right, you've got [Bukayo] Saka and [Ethan] Nwaneri. It's that centre-forward role, I think.”

Jesus joined Arsenal from Manchester City in 2022.

He has struggled with injuries during his time at Emirates Stadium and is currently sidelined due to an ACL tear.
