Manchester United legend, Gary Neville has told Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte not to leave the club when his contract expires at the end of the season.
Neville believes both Conte and Tottenham need each other, adding that Spurs owner, Daniel Levy must do everything in his power to keep the former Chelsea and Inter Milan coach at the club.
The former defender said this as Tottenham lost 2-1 to Liverpool in Sundayâs Premier League tie. Mohamed Salah scored a brace, while Harry Kane scored a goal.
Tottenham have now slipped to the fourth position in the table, with eight points behind leaders Arsenal, having played a game more.
However, there have been rumours brewing since the start of the campaign that Conte could return to former club Juventus, with the Serie A giants desperate to bring their old coach back.
But Neville believes Conte is the right man to continue at Tottenham and will end the clubâs 14-year wait for silverware.
âI think Antonio Conte will get Tottenham a trophy,â Neville told Sky Sports.
âHeâs the type of manager who wonât leave until he does win a trophy. Conte will bring Tottenham success.
âHeâs a great addition, a great asset to the Premier League. Heâs the only manager Iâve seen who almost had the measure of Chelsea when he went there.
âHeâs the only one who has left Chelsea almost on his terms. Heâs smart, intelligent, Daniel Levy will have to keep him happy.â
âThis club, this stadium, with this money in this league, where else could Conte get this in Europe?
âConte and Spurs need each other. Levy needs Champions League football and Conte needs a great club that gets him the exposure and success he wants. At this moment, they are perfect for each other.â
