EPL: He gets criticized daily – Maguire on ex-Man Utd star, Ronaldo

Published on November 25, 2022 at 01:26 AM

Manchester United captain, Harry Maguire, has defended forward Cristiano Ronaldo after his exit from the club.

Maguire said Ronaldo, who left Man United on Tuesday following his explosive interview with Piers Morgan, gets criticized on a daily basis.

Recall that Man United and Ronaldo parted ways on Tuesday evening.

A statement released by Ronaldo said he ‘loved Manchester United and the fans’.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference ahead of England’s 2022 FIFA World Cup tie with the USA on Friday, Maguire said, “As a footballer, nobody likes being criticized, but I think it is part and parcel of the game.

“I have played with Cristiano Ronaldo for the last couple of years and he is one of the greatest players to ever kick a football.

“He gets criticized daily, so if it is going to happen to him and the position I am in playing for Manchester United, it is going to happen to each and every one of us. You’ve just got to work hard, go into training, do your best and that is all you can do.”;
