Former Manchester United striker, Louis Saha has told the club’s latest discovery, Alejandro Garnacho to follow the footsteps of Cristiano Ronaldo if he is to make the most of his enormous potential.
The 18-year-old came off the bench on Sunday to score the winning goal in Manchester United’s 2-1 victory over Fulham.
His goal on Sunday followed a double assist against Aston Villa in the Carabao Cup on Thursday and his first goal for the club against Real Sociedad in the Europa League.
Saha urged him not to get carried away and to use Ronaldo as a role model, otherwise he risks becoming another Federico Macheda or Adnan Januzaj.
The former France international was asked on Sky Sports if it is a risk that Garnacho could just as easily be another Macheda or Januzaj, he said, “Yeah it happens, that’s why he needs to actually keep working hard.
“The best example is Cristiano Ronaldo, you see his work rate, his ambition. He had as well this arrogance, or this confidence, and if you have this balance you will go far.”
The youngstar, already sees Ronaldo as his role model and has been tipped by pundits and fans to step into the shoes of the veteran Portuguese attacker.
Meanwhile, Ronaldo may have played his last game in the colours of Manchester United after the 37-year-old granted an explosive interview with Piers Morgan.
The veteran forward slammed the club and manager Erik ten Hag, saying he has no respect for the former Ajax boss.
Morgan, a die-hard fan of the Portuguese and Arsenal fan, said he does not see the former Real Madrid and Juventus superstar returning to Old Trafford again after the World Cup in Qatar.
