EPL: Roy Keane speaks on De Bruyne joining Man City’s rival

Published on April 23, 2025 at 05:34 PM

Manchester United legend Roy Keane has jokingly claimed that playmaker Kevin De Bruyne could join the Red Devils after leaving the Cityzens as a free agent this summer.

De Bruyne is set to end his decade-long spell at City this June, after Pep Guardiola's side opted not to offer the Belgian a new contract.

As a result, the 33-year-old has reportedly attracted interest from clubs in the United States and Saudi Arabia in recent weeks.

Speaking during an appearance on Sky Sports, former Manchester City star Shay Given suggested that City might come to regret their decision regarding De Bruyne.

He said, “Kevin will admit he is not at his peak but you can see he still has a lot to offer. He can turn up at another Premier League club and that is a concern for City.”

Responding, Keane then suggested De Bruyne could join Manchester United, saying, “United? He wouldn't have to move house.”
