EPL: Slot listens – Salah aims dig at Klopp after Liverpool win title

Published on April 28, 2025 at 08:12 PM

Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah has aimed a cheeky dig at former manager Jürgen Klopp and claimed that he enjoys playing in his new role at the club under current manager Arne Slot.

According to Salah, Slot listens to Liverpool players a great deal, adding that he no longer has to defend as much under the Dutchman.

The Egyptian international noted that Slot’s tactical approach has helped him perform better in attack this season.

This comes after Salah led Liverpool to clinch the Premier League title on Sunday following a 5–1 victory against Tottenham.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Salah said: “You can see the numbers. Now I don’t have to defend much. The tactics are quite different. I said ‘as long as you rest me defensively I will provide offensively’, so I am glad that I did. He listened a lot and you can see the numbers.

“When you play in the Premier League you have to defend but I said that I can gamble and somehow I can make a difference. My number of assists shows that you can create chances as well.”;

Salah has scored 28 goals and provided 18 assists for Liverpool in 34 Premier League matches this season.

His contributions have played a major role in Liverpool securing their 20th league title.
