EPL title race: It’s over now – Jim Beglin tells Arsenal after 1-1 draw with Everton

Published on April 06, 2025 at 06:17 AM

Former Liverpool and Leeds United footballer, Jim Beglin has said that the 2024-25 Premier League title will end up in Merseyside.

He said this after watching Everton hold Arsenal to a 1-1 draw at Goodison Park on Saturday.

Prior to the game, the Gunners were 12 points adrift of Liverpool with eight matches left to play.

The draw with Everton by Mikel Arteta’s men meant Liverpool could extend their lead to 14 points if they beat Fulham on Sunday (today).

Beglin, who once played for Liverpool, told Arsenal to forget about the title race after their surprising 1-1 draw.

Speaking on Premier League Productions, he said, “I would think that’s it for the title. Everyone is convinced that it’s going to end up in this city, across Stanley Park.

“Everton doing Liverpool a favor – that’s a first!”;

Mikel Arteta's men are currently in the second position with 62 points after 31 games, while leaders Liverpool have 73 points while playing one game fewer.
