EPL: Why Man Utd lost 1-0 to Nottingham Forest – Amorim

Published on April 02, 2025 at 05:22 AM

Manchester United manager, Ruben Amorim, has admitted his team was not sharp enough in the final third as they lost 1-0 to Nottingham Forest in the Premier League on Tuesday night.

Anthony Elanga came back to haunt his former club, scoring the winner in the 6th minute of player at the Forest Ground.

The result leaves United sitting in 13th place with 37 points, with Amorim's men yet to record back-to-back wins this campaign.

Amorim, speaking to TNT Sports after the game, was left disappointed by the lack of cutting edge in attack.

He said: “We controlled the game, but we already knew this team can score goals out of nothing.

“When they scored we changed the game a little bit from what they wanted.

“We tried with good opportunities, but in the last third, the last pass, the last assist wasn't there. Then if we don't have that we cannot score goals.

“This season is like that. We had a lot of shots on goal, we pushed the opponent to the last third, but in the last third we had a lack of quality.”

United's next game will be the derby against Manchester City this Sunday.
