EPL: Your career is coming to an end, deal with it – Ian Wright to Ronaldo

Former Arsenal winger, Ian Wright has told Cristiano Ronaldo to ‘seek counselling’ to deal with criticism.

This was after the Portugal international clashed with multiple Manchester United legends and former colleagues of his.

Ronaldo slammed recently Old Trafford heroes Wayne Rooney and Gary Neville.

The Portugal striker said he does not understand why his former colleagues are bent on criticising him all the time, adding that such criticisms are hard to deal with.

And Premier league legend, Wright believes the Portugal international’s behaviour has been ‘petty.’

Wright said it was sad, considering what the Portuguese has achieved in football for him not to be able accept criticism.

He further noted that the 37-year-old is finding it difficult realising that his career is coming to an end.

“For him not to be able to deal with his career coming to an end – it happens to all of us, it happened to me – you do feel a sense of “is that it?”

“He’s not used to hearing negativity but now it is coming to him. It must be difficult for him and something he may need to seek counselling for.”

On Ronaldo’s decision to blank Neville and Carragher, Wright added: “I find that petty. I was quite uncomfortable watching what he did to Jamie Carragher.

“It’s petty because Gary Neville has always stuck by Ronaldo,” Wright added, wondering why the Portugal captain would go on to slam Nevile who has always been on his side.
