ERLING HAALAND’S Premier League arrival has made Harry Kane even better this season, claims Jamie O’Hara.
And statistics show that the former Tottenham midfielder is spot on.
Haaland, 22, has stolen the show since joining Manchester City – scoring an astonishing 17 goals in 11 Prem appearances so far.
But while a fourth PL Golden Boot already appears out of reach, Kane has also had a great start to the campaign.
The 29-year-old has scored ten goals in his first 12 league appearances – more than in any other campaign during his illustrious career.
Kane’s previous best tally at this stage was nine, achieved during the 2017-18 and 2020-21 seasons.
At this stage last year he had just ONE, a goal up at Newcastle that proved to be his only Prem strike under former boss Nuno Espirito Santo.
He bagged seven up to this stage during the 2016-17 and 2019-20 campaigns – and six in 2015-16 and 2018-19.
Kane had scored three up to this stage in his 2014-15 breakout year, albeit in far fewer minutes.
Speaking to Grosvenor Sport on what has made Kane tick this season, O’Hara said: “I’m loving every minute of Erling Haaland because what heâs doing is he is going to make the Premier League better, heâs going to make the standard better.
“Just look at Harry Kane. Heâs picked up his performances this season, because he has known previously that heâs always been the top dog in the Premier League.
“Harry Kane and Mohamed Salah â theyâve always been the main guys in the Premier League, but now they arenât⦠Haaland is now the main guy in the Premier League and if you want to be in and amongst it with him then youâve got to improve your game, which is what Harry Kane has done.
“Iâve always been a big advocate for greatness.
“I love footballers that always want to test the boundaries and see how far they can take their career and see how good they can be, and Erling Haaland is in that bracket.
“I love what heâs doing in the Premier League and heâs only going to make it better. Get more Erling Haalands in the Premier League!”
