ERLING HAALAND is sweating on his fitness after visiting a hospital to check on his foot injury.

The Manchester City striker, 22, limped into Nuffield medical centre wearing sliders but left with a huge grin.

Haaland faces a race to be fit for Saturday’s game at Leicester

Pep Guardiola hooked his Norwegian hitman at half-time against Dortmund after revealing he was suffering from fever and a knock.

On Haaland’s fitness, Guardiola said: “Three things: I saw him so tired.

The second one he had a bit of a fever, like Joao [Cancelo]. The third, he had a knock on his foot.”

Asked about Haaland’s fitness for the weekend trip to Leicester, the Etihad boss added: “I don’t know right now.

“They were a little bit concerned at half time but I saw him walking OK at the end.”

The physical issues for the striker is the only blemish on what has otherwise been an incredible season so far.

Haaland has smashed scoring records on an almost weekly basis since his arrival in the Premier League and could break more.

The star has an extraordinary 17 goals in 11 league matches, while he can also boast of five goals in four games in the Champions League.

Fans and pundits have been left speculating whether it was possible to stop him, with the City man having an incredible mix of attributes.

He has come unstuck in the two meetings against Liverpool – in the Community Shield and the league – but Haaland did bounce back with a double against Brighton last weekend.

Former Manchester United interim manager Ralf Rangnick has revealed how it all could have been so different, with the ex-Dortmund forward heading to Old Trafford instead had the boss got his way.
