Europa League: Amorim names Man United man with highest mistakes this season

Published on April 11, 2025 at 06:42 AM

Manchester United boss, Ruben Amorim, has said that no one has made as many mistakes as himself at Manchester United this season.

Amorim said this in defense of his goalkeeper, Andre Onana, who let in two cheap goals against Lyon in their Europa League quarter-final in France on Thursday.

The game ended in a 2-2 draw with the second leg coming up next week at Old Trafford.

Thiago Almada gave the hosts the lead, after his free-kick evaded everyone and crept past Onana.

Leny Yoro headed in the equalizer just before half time, while Joshua Zirkzee appeared to have won it.

But Onana spilled a shot into Rayan Cherki's path and he scored a late leveller.

Amorim, speaking after the game, said, “Onana? If you look at the season, I've made more mistakes than the players during these last months. It happens.

“It can happen if you play football and a lot of games, that you will make mistakes”;.
