Europe wants war – Russia

Published on April 23, 2025 at 06:39 PM

The Russian government has accused European nations of advocating for war rather than pursuing dialogue to resolve areas of disagreement.

In an interview with Le Point, President Vladimir Putin’s spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, alleged that Europe was entirely aligned with the previous United States government.

“There are no coinciding positions now, as Europe wants war, not negotiations,” he stated. “We will not drag them there by force.”

Peskov claimed that Europe was working in the interests of the Joe Biden administration, asserting that the continent “has not shown any signs of independence.”

Regarding the three-year war in Ukraine, the spokesman expressed confidence that Russia would ultimately achieve its objectives “peacefully or militarily.”

Peskov noted that President Donald Trump had not imposed a deadline for an agreement on a ceasefire, and that Russia was likewise not setting any timeframes.

President Trump and President Putin, he added, are united by their willingness to address the most challenging issues through dialogue.
