HIT series Drive to Survive has attracted a host of new fans to Formula One.

The seven-season-long docuseries has established itself as must-watch TV for the best part of a decade – giving fans a peek behind the curtain of the F1 world.

Box to Box Films, the production company responsible for the show, spends time at every race gathering interviews, behind-the-scenes footage, and racing action.

Then, at the end of the year, the crew weaves that footage together to create a narrative-heavy recap of the year.

Each season has tended to be made up of ten episodes, with each episode depicting a storyline that was prominent in the season.

The series has helped in increasing viewership in the sport.

Will there be an F1: Drive to Survive season 8?

A new season of Drive to Survive dropped in March just ahead of the new Formula One season.

Season 7 was released on March 7 and covered the 2024 campaign – Lewis Hamilton‘s last with Mercedes.

It will also cover Max Verstappen‘s march to a fourth consecutive world title.

Netflix have renewed the show for an eighth season.

Film crew were spotted at the Australian and Chinese Grand Prix, meaning Hamilton's first campaign in the red of Ferrari will be there for all to see next year.

However, according to GPblog, Netflix's next season will not include exclusive footage of the seven-time world champion's first days with the Italian team as the streaming crew was not present.

What is the release date for F1: Drive to Survive season 8?

There is no official release date for season 8 at the time of writing as Netflix have only just started filming.

However, all previous seasons were released in the build-up to the new season.

It can, therefore, be estimated that season 8 will be released in between late February and mid-March 2026, depending on when the new season starts.
