FA Cup 2nd round draw revealed as giant killers Alvechurch are rewarded with another League One tie

FA CUP giant-killers Alvechurch have been rewarded with another League One opponent as they face Forest Green Rovers on round two.

The non-league side booked their place in Monday’s draw with a shock 2-1 away win over Cheltenham at the weekend.

Ryan Jackson pulled a goal back for League One Cheltenham but it wasn’t enough to stage a comeback.

And now the lowest-ranked team left in the FA Cup will travel to Forest Green as they look to continue their dream run.

Alvechurch sit fourth-bottom of the Southern Premier League, the seventh tier of the English football pyramid, meaning they are 91 places below their next rivals.

Second round games will be played on the weekend of Saturday November 26.

Championship and Premier League teams will then enter at the third round stage in early January.

Alvechurch skipper Jamie Willetts is eyeing another FA Cupset.

He said: “Why not, going there with belief. Hopefully we can win.”;

There’s potential for upsets elsewhere.

Chippenham Town travel to League One Burton Albion while King’s Lynn host League Two Stevenage.

Ebbsfleet United will also clash with Fleetwood Town.
