FIRS inaugurates inter-agency committee for national e-invoicing initiative

Published on April 29, 2025 at 07:51 PM

The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) has officially inaugurated the Inter-Agency Steering Committee for the National E-Invoicing Solution at its headquarters in Abuja.

In a statement posted on its X handle, the agency said the event included a comprehensive presentation detailing the roadmap and key milestones for the effective rollout of the E-Invoicing Initiative.

One of the major highlights of the event was the call for strong collaboration between FIRS and critical stakeholders, including the Nigeria Inter-Bank Settlement System (NIBSS), Nigeria Customs Service, financial institutions, and taxpayers.

FIRS said this multi-stakeholder strategy underscores its commitment to leveraging technology and strategic partnerships to enhance transparency, boost efficiency, and encourage voluntary tax compliance across Nigeria’s tax system.
