Holders France will now face Argentina in the World Cup final on Sunday after the South Americans had booked their place by beating Croatia 3-0.

Didier Deschamps has managed to guide reigning champions to the verge of another crown despite suffering a number of crippling injury blows.

Midfield duo Paul Pogba and N’Golo Kante were both ruled out of the tournament while Karim Benzema was selected for action before he was ruled out too.

However, Macron reportedly wants to get these players involved for Sunday’s showpiece.

And he wants to get them along to Qatar for them to witness the showdown against Argentina.

According to MARCA, France’s sports minister Amelie Oudea-Castera has confirmed Macron’s interest in the players travelling to the Middle East.

Pogba and Kante are both still currently sidelined.

However, striker Benzema has resumed training back at his club Real Madrid.

When Deschamps was recently asked whether Benzema might feature from the bench during the game, he bluntly responded: “Next question.”;

The 34-year-old played for Madrid in their 1-1 friendly draw with Leganes on Thursday.

He sustained his injury in November with French team doctors initially ruling him out until after the World Cup final.

Now he could potentially still be there in attendance to cheer on his colleagues even if he is not involved in the squad.
