The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has deployed 1,889 personnel to manage traffic flow and enhance road safety during the Eid-el-Fitr celebration in Kano State.

The Sector Commander, Masa’udu Matazu, made this known in a statement released by the Corps’ Spokesman, Abdullahi Labaran.

According to Matazu, the personnel deployed comprise 1,348 regular marshals and 541 special marshals who will be stationed along major routes and highways across the state. The special patrol operation is scheduled to run from March 27 to April 2.

He said the Corps had also deployed five ambulances, patrol vehicles, a heavy-duty tow truck, and other operational equipment to ensure effective traffic control and swift response to emergencies.

“This is to ensure free flow of traffic on critical road junctions, and safety of lives and properties on highways,”; he stated.

Matazu urged motorists to obey traffic regulations and warned against reckless practices such as car racing and underage driving during the celebration.

“The FRSC Kano Sector Command wishes the good people of the state a peaceful and hitch-free Sallah celebration,”; Matazu added.

The deployment aims to prevent gridlock, ensure smooth vehicular movement, and enhance safety on Kano roads throughout the celebrations.
