FRSC deploys 650 personnel for Eidel-Fitr celebration in Kwara

The Federal Road Safety Corps, Kwara State Sector Command, has deployed 650 personnel and equipment for the Eidel-Fitr celebrations across the state.

The personnel and equipment include 350 officers and marshals, 120 First responders,16 patrol vehicles, two 7power bikes, four ambulances, four private tow trucks and a tow-truck to monitor all roads during the Eidel-Fitri. celebrations in Kwara State.

A statement by the spokesperson of the agency, Basambo Olayinka Busari, in Ilorin on Saturday said the state Sector Commander, Mufutau A Irekeola, deployed personnel for traffic control at strategic locations within Ilorin township and major cities in the state during the Eidel-Fitri special patrol scheduled from 27th March to 2nd April, 2025.

Irekeola admonished motorists to obey traffic rules and regulations through out the celebrations.

He further advised drivers to avoid dangerous driving and wrongful overtaking, excessive speeding, overloading, obstruction, use of phone while driving, operation of mechanical deficient and rickety vehicles/route violation and driving with worn-out tyres among others.

“In order to ensure free flow of traffic and safe motoring before, during and after the celebrations, the Command is currently engaged in the Public Enlightenment campaign/Mega Rally in all interstate motor parks, early morning cry, markets, church and mosque advocacies, respectively, to sensitize the motoring public in the state,” the statement added.

Special patrol operations and traffic control are also being carried out to ease free flow of traffic along major roads, he said.
