GERVONTA DAVIS and Ryan Garcia’s fight is now official.
The two American boxing superstars confirmed on Thursday that a showdown between the pair is a done deal.
However, the date is yet to be finalised for the clash.
And Davis, 28, will firstly have another bout in January before it.
Both fighters had already agreed financial terms for the bumper pay-per-view event, which will be contested at a 136lbs catchweight.
But both men compete on rival networks and have rival promoters, which looked set to cause a hold up in the negotiations.
Floyd Mayweather’s Mayweather Promotions and Al Haymon take care of Davis and his fights are broadcast on Showtime.
Meanwhile, Oscar De La Hoya’s Golden Boy Promotions look after Garcia and DAZN show his bouts.
The two teams have been at loggerheads for a number of years but have now finally got their heads together and put their differences aside to get the fight on.
Reports claim they will work alongside each other to stage the fight.
And the two broadcasters will also provide a joint PPV.
The 27-0 Davis, who will face an unnamed opponent on January 7, and Garcia bout is now being targeted for April.
The 28-year-old Tank tweeted: “I’ll be back in the ring Jan 7 stay tuned for more details!
“After that it’s me and Ryan signed sealed delivered…done deal!”
Garcia, who is 23-0, tweeted: “I’m so pumped this fight is finally in place — I want it more than anything right now.
“I’ve put in the work, I’m at the prime of my career, and I know I’m going to be the biggest boxer in the world. That legacy starts today. Boxing NEEDS this fight right now.
“It’s time for us to get back to what made this sport so great for the fans: Glamorous fights in places like Las Vegas, grudge match storylines, and most importantly — the best fighting the best.”
