GERWYN PRICE will be hoping to win the PDC Darts World Championship for the second time this year.

The Welshman won it back in 2021 defeating Gary Anderson in a controversy-filled final.

Gerwyn Price will be aiming to be a two-time winner

Price, 37, comes into this tournament hosted at Alexandra Palace ranked world No.1.

Of course, he is one of the biggest names in darts but that has not always been the case, starting out as a rugby player before stepping up to the oche.

The man nicknamed ‘The Iceman‘ took a gamble in changing career but it paid off as he has gone on to win three Grand Slams on top of World Champs glory.

He is currently top of the PDC Order of Merit having won the most prize money over the last two years amassing a fortune.

What is Gerywn Price’s net worth?

Price’s net worth is speculated online with no exact figure known.

Reports claim it could be between £1million and £2.5million.

According to the PDC, he has made £1,176,750 in prize money over the last two years.

Rivals Peter Wright, with £1,144,500, and Micheal van Gerwen, with £900,750, come in just behind him.

Price reportedly invests a lot of his money into property and has a widening portfolio.

He also has money tied up in greyhound racing.

What is the PDC World Darts Championship prize money?

The total amount being dished out to all players is £2,500,000.

There are 96 throwers competing with the lowest you can receive being £7,500.

A first round win can double your money up to £15,000.

The cash starts to seriously jump up from the quarter-final onwards with anyone losing in the last-eight set to be given a cheque for £50,000.

£100,000 is the amount for a heartbreaking semi-final defeat.

And in the final they are not just playing to win the Sid Waddell Trophy, but also for £500,000.

The runner-up will be less well off taking home £200,000.
