THE high street is full of new-season buys, perfect for the spring/summer months ahead.

And one particular item that seems to be all over the high street is a cream lace skirt.

The one that has stood out to the Fabulous Fashion team is from Tu Clothing at Sainsbury’s, for £28.

Here the team each show how they’d wear it, plus check out the best of the rest from the high street, with one skirt priced at just £14.

This style of skirt seems to be everywhere on the high street.

It’s perfect for the spring/summer months, with boho being a big trend this season.

And you really can’t go wrong with this one from Tu Clothing for £28.

I’ve added this fun check jacket, red accessories and some sunnies to complete the look.

But I also think it would look cool with cowboy boots, suede and fringing.

I used to love midi-dresses, but there don't seem to be as many in the shops currently, with lots of midi-skirts instead.

They’re still super-easy and versatile to wear – you could even dress this one up with a pair of heels, a red lip and a smart blazer.

Sorted!

There are plenty of lace skirts available on the high street right now, but this Tu Clothing one stands out for me.

Its price point and the fact it features a built-in slip means it’s a winner.

While you could dress it down for a casual weekend look or even make it work for a spring office-appropriate outfit, I’ve opted for a full-on festival look.

I’ve got a couple of festivals lined up for the summer and I like to plan my outfits in advance.

Since boho is trending, I’ve styled it with these stunning fringe boots, a basic vest from H&M’s latest spring drop and this gorgeous suede gilet from Zara, which I’ve had my eye on for a few weeks.

To finish off the look, I’ve added a paisley neck scarf and a brown disc belt – these look great paired with lace skirts, though I know Abby and Clemmie would argue they belong in the past!

Boho skirts like this immediately transport me to being 11 years old and thinking I was an Olsen twin – so this time around I’ll be doing everything in my power to avoid that style trauma!

I like to balance hyper-girlie pieces, like lace, with clean silhouettes in androgynous styles, such as this gorgeous bomber jacket from COS.

I just can’t stay away from funnel necks at the moment and this style is perfect as we move into summer.

I’ll pop on a plain white T-shirt and pair with simple black accessories like a shoulder bag, cat-eye specs and pumps to keep my outfit looking more contemporary and classic, rather than Noughties.

At my age, you have a canny knack for knowing the trends that work for you and the ones that don’t.

While I love boho on others, a lace maxi-skirt is a big ‘no’ on me!

So how can I make this work?

By adding my signature tailoring, of course.

This fitted waistcoat from M&S smartens up the skirt and the long-line cut gives it a more structured shape.

I have added a beautiful woven bag from Massimo Dutti and these gorgeous leather sandals that are only £39.99 from Parfois – one of my new fave online shops.

I have actually surprised myself... I love this look and will be heading to Sainsbury's to give the lace maxi skirt a go!

Hottest fashion trends of 2025

The Fashion Team have found the perfect supermarket lace skirt for £28, plus we show you how to style it four ways 2

Fabulous' Fashion Editor Clemmie Fieldsend shares the biggest trends from the high street.

The East/West Bag

Baguette bags have had a good run, after returning from the 1990s' shoulders of Sarah Jessica Parker to modern-day fashion icons, like Hailey Bieber.

In 2025, the East/West bag is a similar but elongated shape and has long, thin straps that are easy to throw over your shoulder.

They’ve been on runway models' arms at nearly ever designer show – think Burberry, Givenchy and Bottega Veneta – and are hitting the high street now, too.

Powder pink

Bright fuchsia pink had its day after the release of Barbie in 2023 and now the more polished and expensive-looking pale shade is taking over for 2025.

Pantone may say that it's the year of Mocha Mousse, but the catwalks say otherwise! From Prada to Erdem, the subtle look was all over the spring/summer catwalks, worn head-to-toe or on its own.

If the sugary shade is too girly for you, then look to sharp suiting for a androgynous take on the colour.

The shell jacket

The '80s classic is back, but with a sleek and minimal new twist for 2025.

We all know we're likely to see rain for most of spring, so your practical coat of choice should be a cagoule jacket.

Depop revealed one of its big trend predictions for this year is retro sportswear, with surges already seen in ‘80s windbreakers’.

Seen everywhere from the stylish streets of Copenhagen to the Miu Miu catwalk, now mums who have an emergency raincoat crumpled underneath their pushchair are very much in fashion!

The turn-up jeans

While the shape of jeans remains the same for this year and barrel-legs will still be everywhere, the way we’re styling them is different.

This season, transform your wide-leg, baggy denims into turn-ups.

For this look, size doesn’t matter, so while deep turn-ups are a hit from jean trend-leaders Citizens of Humanity, a slight fold is still just as good – but only as it's just one single fold.

Peep-toe shoe

Get your pedicures booked in sharpish, as this season your toes are the main event.

After a long hiatus, the peep-toe has been welcomed back into the fashion fold, with brands like Hermes, Miu Miu and Tory Burch showing plain and embellished footwear in this style.

From mules to pumps and clogs (yes, clogs will be around too!), there are lots of different styles that are set to sweep the high street.

Sheer blouses

See-through looks have always lived on the catwalk, but have rarely filtered into everyday life – until now.

Designers Ralph Lauren and Tom Ford loved sheer looks on their S/S '25 catwalks and M&S even had sellout success with its black sheer pencil skirt last season.

Expect to see more sheer looks lining supermarket aisles and high street shops in the form of skirts, tops and frocks.
