Young girl ‘found alone wandering busy road’ as two arrested and cops launch urgent probe

A YOUNG girl was “found alone and wandering on a busy road” as two people are arrested.

The child, aged between three and five, was found on Wakefield Road in Dalton, Birmingham last night.

Cops rushed to the scene after receiving reports of a child on the street at 6.51pm where she was immediately taken to safety.

She hasn't yet been reported missing and the police are urgently trying to track down her family.

Two arrests have been made in relation to the incident and cops have launched an urgent probe.

West Yorkshire Police said: “A report was received at 6:51pm this evening of a young child in the street in the Dalton area.

“The child was taken to a place of safety and house to house enquiries made in the local area.

“The child has now been identified, and enquiries are ongoing into the circumstances of the incident.

“Two people have been arrested as part of this investigation and are currently in police custody.”
