GMB star Laura Tobin breaks her silence after she snapped at Richard Madeley in painfully awkward on-air moment

GOOD Morning Britain star Laura Tobin has broken her silence after she snapped at Richard Madeley in a painfully awkward on-air moment.

In January, the weather presenter, 43, lashed out at the 68-year-old after he asked a question following her report on an arctic blast that hit the United States.

After Laura delivered an update on the weather for Donald Trump‘s inauguration followed by a look at the UK's forecast this week, Richard asked: “So is that freezing weather in Washington headed this way?”

She responded: “The freezing weather makes the jet stream stronger and then it will bring us storm weather by the end of the week.”

Richard replied: “Oh really, so we could have snow by next weekend?”

Laura snapped: “Yes, I literally just said that Richard. That's literally what just happened.”

He then acted out the snow with his hand, which Susanna poked fun at him for.

“Come on,” laughed Richard. “Talk with the hand.”

Laura added: “My next weather forecast will just be in mime.”

But she’s now spoken about the moment for the first time, as she appeared at the Spring Ball on Wednesday evening, insisting there is no bad blood between herself and Richard.

Laura told Flying Eze: “Well my mum text me and said ‘what was it that he did,’ and I think it was that straight after I’d done the weather he said something like ‘so is it going to be a nice day,’ and I was like ‘I literally just been speaking for a minute, have you not listened to a word I said.’”;

The weather presenter added: “But actually I do love him because he is a big science geek because he always texts me about something science-y all the time.”;

Laura looked stunning as she attended the ball at the Bloomsbury Ballroom on Wednesday – a charity event supporting the Style For Stroke Foundation and Melissa Bell Foundation.

She’s previously spoken about the presenter, before their awkward on-air moment, in an interview with Flying Eze.

Laura said: “Richard is funny, I don’t think he realises he has no filter.

“He just says what he thinks but from the heart and sometimes he goes ‘you know what I was thinking’ and you think ‘no, I don’t know what you were thinking'.

“But then he just says it and I think it’s because he’s been doing it for long enough.”

Laura told us: “He [Richard] doesn’t care if he offends somebody – he kind of politely offends in the way that he does it and he gets the answers you need to have.”
