Gombe court rejects construction firm’s request to vacate interim order in land dispute

The Gombe State High Court, presided by Justice Fatima Musa, has dismissed an application by Grandscope Construction Limited seeking to vacate an interim order preventing it from carrying out activities on a disputed land near the Dankwambo Ultra Modern Park in Gombe Metropolis.

In her ruling, Justice Musa also granted a request by the Gombe State Government to be joined as a defendant in the suit.

The case was brought before the court by Emir General Integrated Limited, which is seeking a perpetual injunction to stop Grandscope Construction from what it claims is trespass on its property.

The applicant further alleged that the company had already violated the interim order by continuing activities on the land despite the court’s directive.

The court has adjourned the matter to May 7, 2025, for the hearing of pending applications
