Gombe: Youths loot Ramadan palliatives allegedly distributed by Seyi Tinubu

Published on March 24, 2025 at 03:57 PM

Youths in Gombe State have looted Ramadan palliatives allegedly distributed by Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

As part of his tour across northern states, Seyi has been organizing Ramadan feeding programs for the less privileged.

However, the initiative has sparked mixed reactions on social media—some commend the effort, while others argue that the region needs sustainable empowerment rather than temporary food aid.

A widely shared video captures youths raiding a truck loaded with food items, including rice, sugar, oil, salt, and pasta.

Of the two trucks carrying 3,500 cartons of supplies to Gombe, one was reportedly intercepted and looted.

Although Seyi’s visits are framed as a Ramadan outreach under the Renewed Hope Youth Engagement (RHYE) initiative, critics see them as a calculated move to strengthen his father’s political influence in the north.

The APC has yet to respond to inquiries regarding the incident.
