Gov Namadi inaugurates committee to strengthen justice system in Jigawa

Governor Malam Umar Namadi has formally inaugurated Justice Sector Reform Committee to strengthen Justice system in Jigawa state.

The committee was inaugurated on Tuesday at the Government House, Dutse.

Governor Namadi said, the committee was established to enhance the administration of justice and strengthen the rule of law in the state.

According to him, “the terms of reference including: To review existing laws and practices, and advise the government on appropriate preventive and corrective measures.

“To evaluate the large number of pending criminal cases and recommend ways for their speedy and effective resolution as well as, to provide general guidance on justice sector reforms aimed at enhancing law and order in Jigawa State, and contributing to national legal development.”

Governor Namadi expressed hope that the committee’s work would significantly contribute to the development of the justice system in the state.

“I inaugurate this committee for the benefit of the people of Jigawa State.

“We hope the committee will strengthen the justice system in Jigawa, and we pray that its outcomes will bring lasting benefits to our people,”; he said.

In his response, the chairman of the committee, the Hon. Chief Judge, acknowledged the responsibility entrusted to them and expressed gratitude for the confidence shown by the government.
