He has ambition – Giroud clears air on Pogba joining Messi at Inter Miami

Published on April 14, 2025 at 05:55 AM

Former Arsenal and Chelsea striker, Olivier Giroud believes Paul Pogba may not join Lionel Messi at Inter Miami this summer, despite rumours suggesting so.

Giroud knows Pogba fairly well as the pair were former teammates with the France national team in the past.

Pogba is currently a free agent after his 18-month doping ban came to an end in January, this year.

The former Manchester United middfielder had been linked with Inter Miami in recent weeks.

The 32-year-old's future remains unclear, but Giroud believes the former Juventus star may continue playing in Europe rather than moving to the Major League Soccer, MLS, this summer.

Speaking to Telefoot, Giroud said about his fellow countryman (via Get Football News France):

“I was really happy to see him, but I think he has to get used to staying in Europe.

“To be honest with you, I think he has that ambition.”;

Giroud currently plays for MLS side Los Angeles after joining the club from AC Milan at the start of the 2024/25 season, seemingly putting an end to his time in Europe.
