He’s unbelievable, has speed – Nani praises incoming Chelsea signing

Published on April 01, 2025 at 03:18 PM

Former Manchester United winger, Nani, has hailed incoming Chelsea signing Geovany Quenda.

Nani said the Portugal U21 international is an unbelievable player, adding that he has speed and energy.

Chelsea spent over £40 million to sign Quenda after his breakthrough season for Portuguese giants Sporting Lisbon.

Quenda will spend next season on loan at Sporting before linking up with his new club Man United before the start of the 2026-27 season.

The 17-year-old was linked with Man United after manager Ruben Amorim, who gave him his professional debut at Sporting, left the Portuguese champions to take over the Red Devils.

“There is a kid at Sporting, Quenda, who is 17 years old and he is unbelievable,” Nani told A Bola.

“He has energy, he has speed, he can improve his physical ability, but he is a very intelligent player. Very mature.

“He knows how to play as part of a team, when he should calm down and speed up the game.”

Asked if he felt Man United had ‘missed out’ on Quenda, Nani added: “I think so.

“There are no players like him at 17. Why did Chelsea sign him? Because they know that.”
