THERE are loads of fun ways to spruce up your home on a budget, but according to this interior designer there is a trend you should also avoid at all costs.

Phoenix Grey, from , recently revealed one of the “cardinal sins” of , along with his friend Nick.

He slammed fake designer logos on home items

The duo took to to explain why designer logos are a big no-no when the item is clearly not actually from the brand.

You've probably seen it thousands of times, pillowcases with Chanel logos, even soap bottles in bathrooms, wall art with designer logos, even Louis Vuitton wallpaper – but it's all a huge no-no for the pros.

In a viral clip, Nick said: “It's just a really great way to tell people you're poor. You can't afford it so you think ‘I'm going to bring some Chanel into my life on my soap dispenser.”

Phoenix agreed the designer logos don't “do anything beneficial for your space.”

Speaking about the home decor items with Chanel and other designer logos on, Nick added: “Chanel doesn't sell those and people who shop at Chanel know they don't sell those.”

Instead, Nick and Phoenix urged shoppers on a strict budget to buy items in their price range without logos on them for a timeless look.

Refillable soap dispensers are a good way to go, and you don't have to break the bank for them either.

You can then re-fill them with cheap soap and your guests will be none the wiser.

The same goes for fake designer logos on things like pillows, the pair added – stick to the basics.

But after sharing their opinions in the viral video people were quick to slam the duo.

One said: “Hot take, let people like what they like.”

And a second quipped: “It's giving Mean Girls.”

“I have never judged someone on their soap dispenser,” another commented.

But someone else agreed with the interior pros and wrote: “I think some of you are missing the point, if you are poor you can still have a classy and timeless home, don't chase the performance of .”

“I hate logos, even on clothes, it scrams that you paid for the name and not the design,” another TikTok user said.

Another agreed: “I try to avoid logos on clothes too, I refuse to be a billboard for a brand.”

But this isn't the first time the interior pro caused a stir online, previously he revealed the common items people buy thinking they're bagging aor elevating their living room when they're actually doing the opposite.

First up, the design pro said jetted bathtubs might seem like a good idea but they're really a bit of a nightamare.

Not only can they be pricey, but swanky jetted tubs can be “bacteria hoarders and they require so much maintenance and up keep.”

Another reason to ditch the honeymoon suit-style tubs is because of the noise, “it sounds like a shuttle going off,” Phoenix said.

The next thing you should ditch are – they might seem practical but no one actually likes on them.

Phoenix quipped: “A clever combination? Yes. Beautiful? Absolutely not.”

Unless you want yourto look like astudent's bedroom it's best to avoid for futons for good.

And if you're thinking of buying a new bedframe soon, there's one type Phoenix thinks is the worst.

Beds with wooden slats are bound to break, he said.

“If you weigh more than 50lbs this is going to be a disaster,” the pro added.

The wooden slats can break and snap easily, so investing a secure bedframe to last years is well worth it.
