CODE PURPLE (3.45 Musselburgh)
Ben Haslam’s six-year-old loves it at Musselburgh, with brilliant form figures of 121122 at the Scottish track. That’s not a record to scoff at and his last visit saw him miss out by just a short-head. He looked in desperate need of the run back on the Flat last time, falling out the stalls and never dangerous. He’s only 1lb higher than the mark he was second off in November and he’s fitter than most thanks to that all-weather run and can enhance his track record under Paul Mulrennan.
MARHABA GHAIYYATH (5.45 Musselburgh, nb)
Was a cosy winner of two good novices on the all-weather over the winter. He’s just the type to kick on in turf handicaps and he’s the only one in the field with a recent run under his belt. An opening mark of 84 could be very generous.
STOCKPYLE (6.15 Musselburgh, treble)
Flashed home at Doncaster last time after being forced to wait for a gap. He’s only 2lb higher and with a strong pace to chase, he can run them down late on.
NEIGH BOTHA (3.25 Stratford, Lucky 15)
Has been running over fences but can do better now back hurdling.
