He won nicely here last time and is now two from two at the track. The drop in trip is no stress at all. He’s only been nudged up 2lb by the handicapper and that looks very generous. His draw in stall four is spot on.
FRANCIS DRAKE (7.30 Newcastle, nb)
He was just caught late on his handicap debut at Lingfield and the drop back to six furlongs at this stiff track looks ideal. The Crisford team are going well at this early stage of the season and this three-year-old will prove better than this grade.
CAPTAIN ATTRIDGE (3.45 Hereford, treble)
Ran two blinders here on his last two visits. This is a very weak race and the drying ground is just up his street. He looks on a workable mark against some exposed rivals.
WOODHAY WHISPER (5.18 Lingfield, Lucky 15)
Hit traffic at the key moment last time before storming home. She looks capable of this with the six furlongs a big help.
