Houthis fires ballistic missile at Israel

Published on March 23, 2025 at 11:27 AM

A ballistic missile launched at Israel by the Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen was successfully intercepted by air defenses, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) says.

According to the Times of Israel on Sunday, there were no immediate reports of injuries or damage in the attack.

The report added that the IDF said the missile was shot down before crossing Israel's borders.

Sirens were also sounded across central Israel.

This is the fifth Houthi attack on Israel since the IDF began its renewed offensive against Palestinian militant group Hamas in Gaza on Tuesday.

The missile launch came a day after Houthi rebel media in Yemen accused the United States of attacking the airport in the rebel-held port city of Hodeida.
