Veteran Nollywood actress, Dupe Jayesimi, has spoken about her pain of being childless at the age of 60.

During an emotional interview on ‘Talk to B' podcast, Jayesimi shared her experience of living without a child.

Speaking about her marital journey, the popular Yoruba actress explained that she lost her first pregnancy after her wedding in 1988.

“Nobody celebrated me on my 60th birthday. I know how children celebrate their parents. But I have none to celebrate me or throw a party for me. On the day of my birthday, I gave someone money to prepare food and shared it for people in my name, and I left the house to cry myself out in an hotel for some days.

“I got married on October 22 1988. As at then I was not fully into acting, and my husband's nature of job is two weeks on two weeks off. We were seeking the face of God for children, although I was pregnant before our marriage but I experienced miscarriage a few weeks after our wedding.

“After a series of medical tests, they said they will open my body for me to get pregnant. I informed my husband and he told me to go ahead, and when I was open, he disappeared for 3 months, and when he returned, he said I should pack my things and leave. My husband started to distance himself, and demarcated our bed with pillows.

“My husband married another woman two weeks after I left him, the woman was already pregnant for him outside”.
