I trust UEFA – Ancelotti on possibility of 4 Real Madrid stars missing Arsenal clash

Published on March 28, 2025 at 08:37 PM

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has insisted that he fully trusts UEFA after the European governing body launched an investigation into the behaviour of four Los Blancos players, which could see them miss the Champions League quarter-final tie against Arsenal in April if found guilty.

The players in question are Kylian Mbappé, Vinícius Júnior, Dani Ceballos, and Antonio Rüdiger.

They have all been accused of indecent conduct during Real Madrid's Champions League Round of 16 second-leg clash against Atlético Madrid earlier this month.

Ancelotti's side defeated Atlético via a penalty shootout to progress to the last eight, where they will face Arsenal.

UEFA has already appointed a disciplinary inspector to examine the unspecified allegations against the four players.

Speaking on the incident and the subsequent investigation, Ancelotti said at a press conference on Friday ahead of Real Madrid's clash with Leganés on Saturday: “We believe everything was correct, and we hope UEFA makes a decision, but we trust that everything will end well.”

Real Madrid are the current holders of the Champions League, having beaten Borussia Dortmund in the final last year.
