No fewer than ten political parties in Cross River State have united for the sole aim of removing incumbent Governor, Senator Bassey Otu from power in 2027.

The coalition was formed yesterday at the end of a crucial meeting in Calabar.

The leadership of the ten political parties unanimously agreed to form the coalition ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The group frowned at the governance of APC in the state, lampooning the administration.

They charged the ruling party to return to good governance, as well as ensure accountability and transparency in the day to day running of the state.

In a statement signed by Rev. Omaleko Efut Omaleko, the Director of Communication and Strategy and state Chairman of APGA, the Coalition warned the ruling APC not to turn the state into a one party state by kneeling on the neck of democracy.

Party Chairmen present at the meeting included the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Allied People's Movement, APM, Boot Party, BP, Labour Party, LP, Social Democratic Party, SDP, and Young Progressives Party, YPP.

Action Democratic Congress, ADC, and New Nigerian People's Party, NNPP sent representatives.
