Published on April 27, 2025 at 10:42 AM

The 2025 Africa Cup of Nations will kick-off on Sunday (today) in Egypt with 13 teams competing for the ultimate prize.

Nigeria's Flying Eagles – the most successful side in the history of the competition – will be gunning for a record-extending eighth title.

Aliyu Zubairu's side are drawn in Group B with Tunisia, Morocco and Kenya.

The Flying Eagles will begin their campaign against Tunisia at the June 30 Stadium, Cairo next week Thursday.

Hosts Egypt will take on the Amajita of South Africa in the competition's opening fixture at the Cairo International Stadium tonight.

Zambia will face debutants Sierra Leone in Ismailia in another Group A game also on Sunday.

The four finalists will feature at the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile later this year.
