2027: Don’t borrow SDP for personal fight with Tinubu – Adebayo to Atiku, El-Rufai

Prince Adewole Adebayo, the 2023 Social Democratic Party, SDP, presidential candidate, has told former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, former Kaduna State governor Malam Nasir El-Rufai and other opposition leaders that they cannot borrow the political party for personal fight against President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Adebayo, on Monday night during the 50th birthday celebration of his wife, Queen Lillian Adebayo in Abuj, told them that SDP is not a getaway car for a conspiracy and robbery.

He, however, maintained that he was still in the race for the 2027 presidential elections.

DAILY POST reports that Atiku, who was PDP’s presidential candidate in 2023 and El-Rufai, who recently decamped to the SDP from the APC are reportedly spearheading the coalition.

Atiku had announced the birth of an opposition alliance and said the coalition is aimed at removing Tinubu in 2027.

“Of course, my party knows that I’m running for the 2027 election. As for the coalition, we are listening to them. We don’t want to be a getaway car for a conspiracy and robbery we did not plan. That’s not available,” Adebayo said.

“If the coalition is for the Nigerian people, the SDP is available. But if it is just a crime centre for disappointed Tinubu followers, they should go back to him and resolve their differences there. Don’t come to SDP to borrow us for a fight we are not involved in,”; he added.

Meanwhile, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Ayekooto Akindele recently said that even if Atiku and El-Rufai merge with terrorists like Abubakar Shekau and Bello Turji, .

Akindele noted that Atiku and El-Rufai should never be allowed close to power when it rotates back to the North in the near future.
