27 killed in Israeli strikes on Gaza, Hamas-run authorities

Published on April 28, 2025 at 12:51 PM

At least 27 Palestinians were killed in Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip overnight and into Monday, according to local health officials from Hamas-controlled authorities.

The Israeli military has not issued a statement regarding the latest strikes.

The reported casualty figures could not be independently verified and did not specify how many of the deceased were civilians or combatants.

Israel has maintained that it aims to minimize civilian casualties during its military operations and has repeatedly accused Hamas of using Gaza’s civilian population as human shields — embedding its fighters and weapons among homes, hospitals, schools, and mosques.

Palestinian civilians, however, continue to report that no location in Gaza feels safe amid the ongoing conflict.

The latest strikes come amid heightened tensions and continuing violence, with no immediate signs of de-escalation.
