Eighties movie icon looks unrecognizable on rare outing in New York – can you guess who she is?

STEPPING out in New York City on a rare public outing, this famous 80s movie icon looked very different.

Rocking a gray coat over the top of an all-black look, this legendary actress looked fresh-faced as she went about her day.

Known for starring in a slew of iconic movies, can you guess who she is?

This 62-year-old movie star made her feature film debut in Bad Boys.

She then came to prominence as a member of the Brat Pack.

And she had roles in Oxford Blues, The Breakfast Club, St. Elmo's Fire, and Blue City.

You've guessed it, it's Ally Sheedy.

Stepping out in New York City at the start of April, Ally, whose real name is Alexandra Elizabeth Sheedy, was seen after a shopping trip before getting into a taxi.

With a large black shoulder bag on her shoulder, Ally could be seen dashing around before heading home.

She wore her brunette locks down and framing her face, and she seemingly ditched makeup for the occasion, too.

ALLY'S STARRING ROLES

In 1985 smash hit The Breakfast Club, Ally played quirky character Allison Reynolds, who was the misunderstood “weird” girl.

In Short Circuit, which came out in the same year, she portrayed the character of Judy, a scientist who is involved with the creation of a robot.

Also in the same year, she starred in Twice in a Lifetime and played the role of Gene Hackman's adoring daughter.

Ally, who will turn 63 in June, has had a colorful love life.

She datedRichie Sambora,Bon Jovi's guitarist, for less than a year in the 1980s.

Ally then told theLos Angeles Timesthat the relationship led her to abuse drugs, a claim Richie denied.

In April 1992, the starlet married actor David Lansbury, the nephew of actressAngela Lansburyand son ofEdgar Lansbury.

PROUD MOM TO SON BECKETT

The pair welcomed a child, Beckett.

In 2008, Ally announced that she and David had filed for divorce.

Ally and David's son Beckett is transgender, with the famous actress speaking out about his transition in 2022.

Speaking to People, Ally said: “I want him to be able to do what he wants to do with his life and have the freedom to make his own choices and surround himself with a loving, supportive community.

“So far, he's been able to do that.”

As a parent, she said that she had “learned a lot”.

She went on: “Beck doesn't hide anything. And I feel very comfortable talking to anyone whose kid is just beginning the process of transition.

“Parents need to educate themselves.”
