Published on April 28, 2025 at 11:05 AM

The Adamawa State Pension Board has launched a comprehensive verification exercise for pensioners across the state.

Speaking during the official flag-off of the exercise, the Executive Chairman of the Board, Mr. Ibrahim V. Abba, emphasized that the initiative is designed to update and authenticate pensioners’ records, eliminate discrepancies, and facilitate more efficient service delivery.

“This verification is a routine but vital process. It is not designed to witch-hunt anyone, but to protect the integrity of the pension system and guarantee that entitlements are paid accurately and promptly,”; Mr. Abba said.

He praised Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for his unwavering support and commitment to the welfare of retirees, describing the governor’s efforts as a “giant stride” toward addressing the longstanding challenges pensioners have faced in the state.

According to Mr. Abba, special arrangements have been made to ensure the exercise is seamless and stress-free for all participants, including the establishment of designated verification centers and the deployment of trained personnel to cater to elderly and vulnerable pensioners.

He urged pensioners to cooperate with officials and remain patient throughout the process, reassuring them that “every necessary arrangement has been made to ensure a transparent and smooth verification exercise.”;

The Pension Board also reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining open communication throughout the verification period.

Pensioners were encouraged to report any difficulties they encounter to designated help desks set up at the centers.
