The Adamawa State Command of the Nigeria Police has arrested a total of 148 suspects in strategic operations targeted at criminals.
Those arrested include suspected kidnappers, armed robbers and rapists.
Eleven 11 AK-47 rifles, 20 locally fabricated assault rifles, 110 live rounds of ammunition and three stolen vehicles were recovered from the suspected criminals.
The Command said in a press release signed by the state Police image maker, SP Suleiman Nguroje, “In compliance with the directives of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun to develop an action plan aimed at minimizing crimes, the Commissioner of Police, Adamawa State, CP Dankombo Morris, re-designed the Command’s operational/intelligence capabilities and intensified security measures to address emerging threats and reduce crime within the state.
“This strategic move has yielded significant outcome that resulted in the arrest of numerous suspects well as the recovery of arms and ammunition.”
Nguroje added that two improvised explosive devices, IEDs, planted by Boko Haram in some communities within Hong Local Government Area were deactivated and six kidnapped victims rescued in collaboration with sister security agencies.
