Affordable African island with 31C winters gets more TUI flights from the UK

TUI is launching more flights to an African island which is hot all year round.

The airline has expanded its routes to Cape Verde, with new flights to from .

The first TUI flight will leave the UK on April 26

The first flight from East Midlands to Boa Vista will leave the UK on April 26, 2025.

Flights will then depart twice weekly on Wednesdays and Saturdays during the . In winter, there will be flights on Wednesdays once a week.

You can get to the island directly in six hours 20 minutes.

Those aren't the only flights to either as TUI is increasing other routes too.

There are additional Wednesday flights from Gatwick to Boa Vista.

And an extra Saturday service from to Sal.

Chris Logan, TUI UK&I Commercial Director, said: “Cape Verde has been a popular all-round holiday destination for some time now and we are seeing increased demand for Boa Vista (which translates to ‘Beautiful View').

“This new route from East Midlands, along with our expanded Cape Verde programme, allows us to meet this growing demand. The island is home to unspoilt beaches and boasts year-round sunshine, which is a huge draw for holidaymakers seeking a new destination for a relaxing holiday.”;

A 7-night holiday to Boa Vista from East Midlands starts from £783 per person – based on two adults sharing a balcony room at the all-inclusive RIU Touareg.

Departing on Wednesday, May 28, the fare includes return flights, 20kg hold luggage and transfers.

Sal and Boa Vista are two of the most popular islands on the Cape Verde archipelago.

The islands have averagetemperatures of 31C, daily sunshine and you can be there in six hours.

is the most popular island for holidaymakers, and that's no surprise once you see the white sandy beaches and warm, crystal waters – which is why it's been compared to the .

The island of Boa Vista has a volcanic landscape with dunes – and you might even catch the sight of a humpback whale in the sea if you are lucky.
