AIG Tolani appointed head Zone 16 Police Command

An Assistant Inspector General of Police, Alausa Hakeem Tolani, has been appointed as the AIG in charge of Zone 16 Command Headquarters, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.

According to a statement by the Zonal Police Public Relations Officer, SP Gunn Ewhoborwo Emonena, the appointment follows the promotion of DIG A.A. Hamzat to the rank of Deputy Inspector General of Police, as approved by the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun.

AIG Tolani was commissioned into the Nigeria Police Force as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police on May 18, 1992.

Tolani has held various positions at different levels within the Nigeria Police Force and has also served in international capacities.

Before his latest posting as the 10th Zonal Commander of Zone 16, he was the Commissioner of Police in charge of Police Accounts and Budget at the Force Headquarters, Abuja, and also previously served as the Commissioner of Police for Training and the Commissioner of Police, Bayelsa State Command.

The Zone 16 Police Headquarters has called for the full cooperation and support of the people of Bayelsa and Rivers States, urging them to assist AIG Tolani in delivering effective policing in line with the Inspector General of Police’s agenda.
