AKMU’s Lee Chan Hyuk To Debut As Music Director Through Korean Remake Film “Midnight Sun” Starring Jung Zi So And Cha Hak Yeon

AKMU’s Lee Chan Hyuk is set to make his debut as a music director in the film “Midnight Sun”; featuring Jung Zi So and Cha Hak Yeon!

“Midnight Sun”; is a music film that follows Mi Sol (Jung Zi So) and Min Joon (Cha Hak Yeon), who can only meet at midnight. As they connect through music, they fall in love and work together to pursue their dreams.

The romance film is a remake of the 2007 Japanese hit that inspired a youth romance trend in South Korea and was later adapted into the Hollywood film “Midnight Sun.”; Now, the beloved story returns in 2025 with a fresh Korean perspective.

The film’s poster features warm sunlight streaming onto a guitar in Mi Sol’s room, symbolizing her dream of becoming a singer-songwriter.

In the moving poster, Jung Zi So hums the film’s original soundtrack, heightening anticipation. Cha Hak Yeon stars alongside her as Min Joon. Together, they bring to life a heartfelt story of young love and shared dreams.

Director Cho Young Joon, known for his warm approach to storytelling as showcased through the film “The Preparation,”; returns to the director’s chair after an eight-year hiatus.

Furthermore, the film marks Lee Chan Hyuk’s first venture into film scoring. Known for his chart-topping songs and unique musical vision, Lee Chan Hyuk blends his signature style with the voices of Jung Zi So and Cha Hak Yeon to create a memorable original soundtrack.

“Midnight Sun”; is scheduled to hit theaters on May 28.
