The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Olatubosun Oluyede, has called on troops to remain steadfast in tackling Nigeria’s growing security challenges to ensure lasting peace and national development.

Speaking at the opening of a four-day Senior Command and Leadership Seminar in Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital, Oluyede emphasized the need for continuous engagement, particularly among commanders leading frontline operations. The seminar aims to equip senior military officers with the strategic skills necessary to navigate an increasingly complex security landscape while upholding the Nigerian Army’s integrity.

Represented by the Chief of Training at Army Headquarters, Major General Abubakar Sadiq Ndalolo, Oluyede highlighted the importance of teamwork and effective communication in combating insurgency and other security threats. He stressed that soldiers must build synergy and enhance their communication skills to address these challenges effectively.

The Commander of the 4 Special Forces Command in Doma, Major General Hilary Nzan, reiterated the Army’s commitment to national security, assuring that continuous capacity-building efforts would further strengthen the military’s ability to protect all parts of the country.

Nasarawa State Governor, represented by his deputy, Dr. Emmanuel Akabe, praised the Nigerian Army for its relentless fight against crime and its role in maintaining national unity. He encouraged closer collaboration between the military and local communities to enhance intelligence gathering and information sharing.

The seminar, themed “Enhancing Operational Level Command and Leadership Within a Joint Environment,”; attracted key stakeholders, including prominent traditional rulers such as the Andoma of Doma, Alhaji Aliyu Onawo Ogah.
