Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency expert focused on the Lake Chad region, disclosed this in a post on his X handle on Sunday.

Makama said the suspect, identified as Lance Corporal Yusuf Yunnusa, is attached to the 82 Battalion in Rukuba, Plateau State.

The security expert disclosed that he was apprehended at about 1630 hours on April 19 at Mamu Filling Station in Lambata, Kwali, following actionable intelligence that someone was attempting to sell a Toyota Corolla without documents.

“The security personnel swiftly launched a surveillance operation that resulted in Yunnusa’s arrest. A Toyota Corolla LE, with registration number ABC 570 FJ and an ash-colored exterior, was recovered from the suspect,” Makama added.

He further stated that Yunnusa confessed during interrogation to stealing the vehicle from its parking spot at the Federal Secretariat in Abuja on April 17, 2025, around 1200 hours.

The security expert stated that the suspect had brought the car to Kwali with the intention of selling it but was caught by the police before completing the transaction.
