At least, four people have been abducted by bandits in a fresh attack on Dunkawa community in Sabon Birni Local Government Area of Sokoto State.

The attack, which occurred late Friday night, was revealed in a post by security analyst Bakatsine on X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday morning.

According to the post, armed bandits stormed Dunkawa under the cover of darkness and whisked away four residents, leaving the community in fear and confusion.

“Last night, bandits attacked the Dunkawa community in Sabon Birni LGA of Sokoto State, abducting four people during the invasion,”; Bakatsine wrote.

Dunkawa lies within the Sokoto East Senatorial District, a region that has increasingly become a target of violent attacks and mass abductions in recent years, with many communities facing repeated invasions.

Local authorities are yet to release official statement regarding the incident.
