Barcelona drop into Europa League before Bayern Munich clash

Published on October 27, 2022 at 06:12 AM

Barcelona have dropped into the Europa League even before their Champions League clash at home with Bayern Munich kicks off.

This is because of Inter Milan’s 4-0 drubbing of Viktoria Plzen in Wednesday’s early kick off.

The Serie A had held Barca to a 3-3 in the last Match Day fixture.

A win against Plzen means they will qualify from Group C along with Bayern Munich.

Edin Dzeko scored twice, while Romelu Lukaku and Henrikh Mkhitaryan also found the back of the net, as Inter booked their spot in the last 16.

They now have 10 points and although Barcelona can also get 10 points, the Italian club has a better head-to-head record between the two sides.
